European University of Lefke (EUL)
The European University of Lefke (EUL) was founded in 1990 by the Cyprus Science Foundation. Its campus is located in Lefke, a quiet town in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, situated on a hill with views overlooking Morphou Bay and the Mediterranean. The setting offers a peaceful and scenic environment conducive to academic study.
EUL is structured into 11 faculties (including Engineering, Architecture, Health Sciences, Economics & Administrative Sciences, Education, Law, Communication, etc.), supported by a graduate school and an English preparatory school. The university offers a broad mix of associate, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. Courses are offered in both English and Turkish, which helps attract a global student body.
Internationalization is central to EUL: tens of thousands of students from dozens of countries study there, and the university has created a multicultural campus. The institution places high value on quality and accreditation: many of its programs are accredited by recognized international bodies (e.g., MUDEK, ASIIN) and EUL is part of global higher‑education networks.
On the research front, EUL supports innovation and academic scholarship. Its infrastructure includes modern labs, research centers, and facilities designed to enable high-quality academic work. The university’s strategy places a strong emphasis on combining teaching with applied research and community engagement.
Student life at EUL is active and varied — the campus supports a large number of student clubs (cultural, scientific, athletic), along with major annual events like international festivals, career days, and student conferences. Housing is available in multiple residence halls, and students benefit from comprehensive support services including counseling, career development, and health services.
