Near East University (NEU), founded in 1988, is located in Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is a large private institution that serves as a major educational and cultural hub in the region, with a modern, well-designed campus featuring a wide variety of academic, research, and social facilities. 

NEU’s academic structure is comprehensive: it has 20 faculties220 departments8 graduate schools4 vocational schools, and 28–32 research institutes (depending on the source).The university offers both Turkish- and English-taught programs, making it accessible to a diverse international population. 

On the research and infrastructure side, NEU is notable for its supercomputer center, which supports advanced computing tasks and has participated in large-scale research projects. The campus also offers strong student life infrastructure: there are sports facilities (including an Olympic-size swimming pool), a Sports Tower, multiple dormitories, cafeterias, cultural centers, a car museum, and more. NEU also has a teaching hospital (Near East University Hospital), which is JCI (Joint Commission International) accredited, offering real-world clinical and research opportunities to health science students.
