University of Notre Dame
The University of Notre Dame, founded in 1842 by the Congregation of Holy Cross, is a private Catholic research university located in South Bend, Indiana. Notre Dame combines a rigorous undergraduate liberal arts education with strong graduate programs across its colleges of Arts & Letters, Science, Engineering, Business (Mendoza), Global Affairs, Law, and Architecture. With a tradition rooted in faith and service, the university emphasizes moral and ethical leadership, academic excellence, and global engagement. Approximately 10% of its students are international, and Notre Dame maintains a robust global presence through its “Global Gateways” in cities like London, Beijing, and Dublin. The university is also known for its high retention and graduation rates, as well as a very active study-abroad program: a large share of undergraduates spend time overseas.
